A man has been arrested in connection with a spate of attacks on an adult store in Manchester's Gay Village. Clonezone on Sackville Street was targeted by thugs for a fifth time on Sunday (September 10) at around 2pm.
Police said a masked offender attempted to break the steel panels guarding the shopfront before throwing an object at the doors and security equipment, causing around £3,500 of pounds worth of damage.
This came after a spate of attacks in March, April and May. In an update issued today (Thursday), Greater Manchester Police said a 29-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He remains in custody where he will be quizzed by detectives. GMP said: "#UPDATE I Officers in Manchester city centre arrested a 29-year-old man this morning on suspicion of criminal damage in connection with a series incidents at the Clonezone store on Sackville Street – he remains in custody for questioning." On Sunday, two men approached the shop on a bike and attempted to smash the windows before throwing an object at them, officers said.
