The pair wowed in the ballroom over the weekend as they competed in the semi-final of the BBC One dance contest. Former Coronation Street star Ellie was told by head judge Shirley Ballas that she had some “unique and beautiful leg actions” following her first dance of Saturday night's (December 9) live show.
The soap star performed the cha cha cha to Mambo Italiano by Bette Midler with her dance partner Vito. Anton Du Beke described the dance as “absolutely beautiful” but Craig Revel Horwood said it looked “a little bit too polite” and the pair were awarded 37 points from the judges. It saw them throw the traditional rules out of the window as they finally did their couple's choice. During the results show, Ellie and Vito were the first couple to be told they had made it through to the Strictly 2023 final.
