Pep Guardiola hailed the impact of Oscar Bobb for lifting Manchester City to victory over Sheffield United. Rodri had given the reigning Premier League champions the lead with a well-struck shot in the first half, yet the Blues boss was not satisfied with the level of his players and wanted more from them after the break.
Bobb, 20, came on for Jack Grealish after the first few minutes of the second half and wasted no time in sparking further City attacks as he linked up well with Phil Foden.
That partnership would prove decisive, with a terrific pass from Bobb cutting out three Sheffield United defenders to find Foden inside the box and the England man squared for a simple tap-in for Julian Alvarez.
City saw the game out to keep their first clean sheet in nine league matches and move to within two points of the top of the table.
