Strictly Come Dancing star Vito Coppola has admitted to 'crying' as he responded to a heartfelt tribute penned to him from Ellie Leach.

The pair are still riding the emotional wave as their journey on the BBC One dance contest came to a spectacular end. The Italian professional dancer and the former Coronation Street actress emerged victorious on Saturday night (December 16) after beating stiff competition to lift the Glitterball trophy in the form of fellow finalists Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin and Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell.

While Ellie, 22, and Vito, 31, didn't top the leaderboard following their three dances during the epic last live show, the pair did emerge in the top spot following the public vote after the judges' comments and scores were there for guidance only.

And Ellie made history as the youngest-ever winner of the hit dance show.
