The BBC has responded to accusations made by Strictly's former contestant Will Bayley, who recently called out his ex-dance partner Janette Manrara regarding an injury he sustained on the show.

He alleges a lack of "no duty of care".Replying to his critique, a representative for the BBC stated: "We have longstanding protocols for dealing with injuries if they occur and that includes contestants receiving all necessary treatment and support as required."Bayley, a Paralympian, suggests that despite producers being aware of the potential risk in a table-jumping stunt, he was urged to proceed.

Post-injury, he felt blamed by show bigwigs, reports the Mirror. His damaged knee ligaments led to his withdrawal from the 2019 series while expressing fear over the future of his career: "I was lying on the floor thinking my whole career was over," he told the Sun.The claims come in the wake of Amanda Abbington and Zara McDermott's vocalised issues over their treatment on Strictly.

Abbington critiqued her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice for behaviour she describes as "unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean".Pernice refutes these allegations.Graziano Di Prima has now departed the competition following accusations about his conduct toward Love Island's McDermott.
