Beloved teen 'who lived in her own world' went to bed and then never woke up

The family of a 'funny and bubbly' teenager who was found dead in bed have paid a heartbreaking tribute to her. Bethany Tricia Brown, 13, died unexpectedly after she was discovered unresponsive at the family home in Skelmersdale, near Wigan An inquest into Bethany's death heard she had stayed off school as she was complaining of feeling unwell and had been vomiting.

On Tuesday March 19, this year Victoria visited the house and Bethany ate her tea in the kitchen. Victoria went home and did not hear from her younger sister again but at 2am the 13-year-old went to her mum Phillipa's room, saying "Mum, I feel really sick." Phillipa asked if she wanted to stay in her room, but Bethany returned to her own bedroom, Lancs Live report. Bethany was unresponsive and Victoria immediately called the emergency services. They attended the property in Abbeywood but the teenager was tragically declared dead.

Blister packs containing Phillipa's painkilling medication were found by Bethany's bed. Toxicology reports later confirmed Bethany died from the combined effects of the prescription medication.
