BBC Breakfast backlash as host drops C-bomb live on-air

BBC Breakfast's Nina Warhurst accidentally used a swear word on live TV while discussing tax cuts, leaving viewers at home shocked.

During the news programme, Nina was talking about the country's financial situation and the budget when she made the mistake.

After host Jon Kay's segment, Nina said: "Thank you, Jon. When tax c***s are announced, the public listens which is possibly why the Chancellor has hinted at this ahead of the election." She went on to say: "But these are strong words from the well-respected Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) saying if the Treasury is planning on making savings through cutting tax without explaining how or where then the Chancellor will lack credibility." Nina continued: "Yes, taxes are high but, so is the national debt and today the IFS says the government is barely on course to make debts fall." Viewers quickly took to social media to comment on the blunder, with some "almost falling off" their chairs a one wrote: "Nina on the #bbcbreakfast talking about tax c**ts.

Another viewer replied: "I nearly fell off my chair when she said it!" while a third viewer confirmed: "Oh yeah we rewound it....she definitely said tax c**ts #BBCBreakfast." A fourth BBC Breakfast fan remarked: "Oi oi...Tax c**ts on #BBCBreakfast." One viewer wrote on Twitter: "I do believe Nina just slipped an extra 'n' into 'tax cuts' #BBCBreakfast." The BBC posted a video of Nina's part of the show, but her mistake wasn't included in it.
