BBC Antiques Roadshow never fails to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Earlier this week we reported on a guest who refused to sell his beloved vintage Bulova watch, worth between £1,500 to £2,000 after expert Richard Price warned him against it.And last month a member of the public was left absolutely gobsmacked when their heirloom was given a record-breaking valuation by expert Geoffrey Minn.

The item in question was a Faberge sculpture of a pear blossom and belonged to the Worcestershire army regimen which Minn said he believed to be worth an incredible £1million.

But last year one guest became memorable after they became overcome over some old strangely shaped plates adorned with different images and outlined in blue.Taking a look at the pieces was John Sandon, a glass and ceramics expert, who was very impressed and described the plates as 'rare as they come'.

He said at the time: "They seem to be a matching pair of plates, but one's painted with a comical [Chinese man], and here you've got a figure of a king." They apparently dated all the way back to the 1600s.“They're very peculiar," John continued before asking the owner of the dishes: "What do you know about them?"The guest told John: “Well, I remember them on the wall of my husband's parents' house."And traditionally, in the family, they were said to be very valuable.
