An Asda shopper who thought he had bagged a bargain was left doing a 'double take' when he scanned his shopping. The man was shocked to discover his "reduced" price croissants were almost going to cost him an extortionate sum, despite stating they had been reduced to 60p.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, visited an Asda branch in Warrington on Thursday night (March 23). He had popped in for a few "bits" after work when he spotted what he thought was a bit of a steal considering the rising costs happening in shops across the country.

A packet of two Asda Extra Special almond croissants had a yellow sticker on, stating they were now just 60p, instead of the original £1.70.

The man said he thought they would be perfect to have for his breakfast the following morning, reports the Liverpool Echo.
