Appeal after group 'try to steal motorbike' outside Starbucks

Police have issued an appeal after a group 'tried to steal a motorbike' outside a Starbucks in Stockport. The incident happened outside the coffee shop near the Portwood roundabout at around 3pm yesterday (Monday). 'Several unknown persons' made an attempt to steal the bike, police said.

Officers investigating the incident are now urging any witnesses to come forward. They particularly want to speak to anyone who has footage or CCTV. A post on the GMP Stockport Facebook page said: "#APPEAL | Stockport’s Neighbourhood Crime Team are appealing for information in relation to an incident which occurred in Stockport Town Centre on Monday 17th July 2023 at around 3pm. "The incident involved several unknown persons attempting to steal a motorbike outside of Starbucks next to Portwood Roundabout in Stockport Town Centre.
