Amy Robach And T.J. Holmes Break Silence On “Year Of Hell” Since Their ‘GMA3’ Firing

Holmes are speaking out for the first time since their suspension and eventual exit from their co-anchor spots on ABC’s GMA3 a year ago after news of their extramarital relationship went public. “I guess the best way to sum us up, Amy and T.J., is that we’re the folks who lost the jobs we love because we love each other,” Holmes said on the couple’s new iHeartMedia podcast Amy & T.J.
today. “And that is the bottom line.” Last December, Robach and Holmes were taken off the Good Morning America spin-off by ABC after the Daily Mail published a story about the couple’s romantic relationship.
The two were married to other people at the time – Robach to actor Andrew Shuh, and Holmes to lawyer Marilee Fiebig – and eventually ABC made the suspension permanent.
In today’s podcast, Robach and Holmes say they were both going through divorces at the time and planned to tell ABC execs about their relationship once their respective divorces were finalized.
