Alec Baldwin Speaks Out After 'Rust' Shooting Trial is Dismissed

Alec Baldwin is breaking his silence after his Rust case was dismissed. The 66-year-old actor was on trial for the shooting and killing of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie in 2021.

The gun that Alec was holding fired, with the bullet striking and killing Halyna. On Friday (July 12), a New Mexico judge decided to dismiss the involuntary manslaughter trial against Alec over “critical” bullet evidence that was introduced into the case. Alec was seen sobbing in court after the decision was announced.

The following day, Alec released a statement after the case was dismissed.
