Adam Sandler‘s 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore is getting a sequel.Last night (May 15), streaming platform Netflix took to social media to announce that Sandler will be reprising his role in the 1996 golfing comedy classic for an entirely new sequel that will arrive exclusively on Netflix at some point in the future.A release date has yet to be announced, nor has the sequel’s cast besides Sandler.Happy Gilmore is back!

Gilmore enters a golf tournament to win money to save his grandmother’s house, facing off with the arrogant Shooter McGavin along the way.
The film also starred Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, Carl Weathers and Bob Barker.In 2020, Sandler teamed up with the Safdie Brothers for the critically acclaimed film Uncut Gems.
