Kyogo Furuhashi has urged Celtic to tie down strike partner Adam Idah long term - insisting everyone at Parkhead wants him to stay.
The on-loan Norwich City striker played a pivotal role in the Hoops landing the league and Scottish Cup double and has become a summer priority for Brendan Rodgers.
His nine goals in 19 games also eased the burden on Kyogo who chipped in with 20 strikes. Now Celtic’s Japanese talisman voiced his admiration for his colleague after Idah struck a 90th minute winner against Rangers in Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final. The Ireland international had replaced Kyogo in the 62nd minute at Hampden before netting the final goal of the domestic season.
It was the latest of a series of big strikes after he hit doubles in wins against Hibs and Motherwell as well as netting at Ibrox and Rugby Park on the evening the title was secured a fortnight ago.Hoops full-back Greg Taylor reckons the big striker’s arrival has pushed Kyogo onto another level.
