The beauties have reunited in order to promote their forthcoming Apple+ TV docuseries “The Super Models,” which will delve into their astonishing rise to the top of the fashion world in the late 1980s “The Greatest of All Time,” the sell line of the September issue reads, shows the stunners posing side-by-side on a runway.

The supermodels last appeared together on the cover of British Vogue back in January 1990, along with Tatjana Patitz, who tragically passed away in January at the age of 56.Their joint return to the cover of Vogue is no small feat — particularly given that the September issue has long been considered the most important edition of the magazine.

The cover image — captured by fashion photographer Rafael Pavarotti — is so striking that it will be used for both the American and British September issues. “In the late ’80s to mid-’90s, high fashion went from a niche aspirational hobby to a pillar of mainstream entertainment,” Vogue declared in a press release announcing the supermodels’ cover appearance. “At the center of this transformation were Christy, Naomi, Cindy, and Linda, whose rare combination of extraordinarily photogenic features, born-with-it confidence, quick wit, intuitive style, intense curiosity, and utterly bananas work ethic flipped the switch for the industry.
