Woman fighting for life in hospital after being hit by vehicle

A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Tameside on Wednesday (May 3). Emergency services were called to the scene on Harridge Avenue, Stalybridge, shortly after 5.30pm to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Paramedics rushed the woman, aged 32, to hospital from the scene. She suffered a life-threatening head injury in the smash. Sergeant Louise Warhurst of SCIU said: “This was a tragic collision that has left a woman with severe head injuries. “We are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was on Harridge Avenue around the time it happened and may have dashcam footage, to get in touch with us."
