A huge new arts and culture venue will be opening its doors permanently this weekend in Manchester’s Red Bank neighbourhood, just off Angel Meadow Park - and the first few months of events will include quiz nights, comedy shows and a pop-culture market.

From the team behind GRUB, Fairfield Social Club will feature a craft beer garden and barbeque space and will also host a wide range of events including film screenings and games nights.

Opening its doors on March 9, the Cheetham Hill venue on Irk Street will kick off with a special line-up of events and comedy shows as part of GRUB’s Lass Fest, held each year to coincide with International Women’s Day.

Better still, the first 100 guests to arrive when the doors open on Saturday lunchtime (March 9) will be treated to free currywurst and a can of Blackjack beer.
