Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.

A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.

He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.

Michael Owen believes Marcus Rashford's pace makes him a vital asset for England and should make him a guaranteed starter for the Three Lions this summer.

Owen hasn't always been convinced by Rashford and said in December 2022 that he wasn't sure he could be the main goalscorer for Manchester United, but he does think the 26-year-old has a vital role to play for his country.

Rashford made a mockery of Owen's assertion that he wouldn't be a 30-goal-a-season striker by netting exactly that tally last term.

And after a difficult start to this season he is beginning to rediscover his form in front of goal, although he was only a substitute for England in their Wembley defeat to Brazil on Saturday. "If we don’t have someone like Rashford, then I don’t think we have masses and masses of pace to frighten the life out of anyone," Owen told Instant Casinos. "I think when you have a combination of the likes of Bellingham, Foden and Saka and then you have the raw pace of Rashford, teams won’t know whether they are coming or going. "You won’t be able to defend for pace or against pockets.
