A van ‘deliberately ploughed into a flock of geese crossing a road’ in Salford, according to the RSPCA. The ‘shocking incident’ reportedly happened on Wednesday, July 12, as the geese were crossing Lower Broughton Road, in Broughton.

It was said to have happened at 10.40am that morning. Sadly, three geese were found dead at the roadside after the collision, and another two juvenile geese were put down due to their injuries.

The animal welfare charity says it has CCTV footage which shows a white van with two men inside it driving into the birds and not stopping.

Now, it is appealing for more information from the public because the number plate cannot be made out on the footage. Try MEN Premium for FREE by clicking here for no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features. “This sounds like it was deliberate, and totally unnecessary and cruel behaviour.
