Two men arrested in connection with alleged attempted murder in Clydebank

Police investigating an alleged attempted murder in Clydebank have made two arrests. A 62-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident on Alexander Street shortly after midnight on Monday May 8.

The alleged victim, a 38-year-old man, is said to have stumbled to a nearby takeaway for help. He was then rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow shortly after midnight where medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

His injuries are now said to have been serious, but not life-threatening. A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that the pair had been taken into custody but have since been released pending further enquiries.

No-one has been charged.Detective Constable Martin Davies, Clydebank CID, previously said: “Although this attack took place in the early hours of the morning, I am sure there would have been people about and so I’d ask that if you were in the area and saw anything that may assist officers with their enquiries, then please get in touch.""Officers can be contacted by phoning 101.
