Passengers are being warned to expect weeks of disruption on Metrolink services in the city centre. Two tram stops will be out of service for more than three weeks while engineering works take place.

Both Shudehill and Market Street stops will be closed from today (July 24) until Monday, August 19. It means there will be no direct trams running between Victoria and Piccadilly stations.

Transport for Greater Manchester says the disruption is due to 'essential Metrolink renewal works' close to both Shudehill and Market Street.

A replacement bus service is running every 12 minutes between Victoria and Piccadilly, in both directions, while the work takes place. READ MORE: Cocaine-fuelled Thai boxer accused partner of having affair with his dad...
