Threave Rovers caretaker Paul McGinley hailed his side’s fighting spirit after they snatched victory against West Park United.
A topsy-turvy game saw the Castle Douglas side lead 2-0 and trail 3-2 before winning 4-3. McGinley said: “The character, desire and heart we showed was absolutely brilliant. “We were going into the last 10 minutes 3-2 down and we certainly didn’t wilt.
We dug deep and that’s the most pleasing aspect of it. “The substitutions influenced the game, which is brilliant to see.” Goals from Dan Orsi and Tam Coles had Threave 2-0 up early on, but the hosts hit back with a couple of goals bringing them level at the break.
And they looked set for three points when they took the lead with 15 minutes left – only for Joe McMillan to equalise and Liam Park score a stoppage time winner.
