Brentford manager Thomas Frank is reportedly a strong contender to replace Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag should he be sacked at the end of the season.

According to The Telegraph, the Danish head coach has already built a strong relationship with INEOS prior to Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchasing a stake in United.

It is understood no decision has yet been made on Ten Hag's future at Old Trafford but co-owners of the club have admiration for what Frank has achieved at Brentford.

One sticking point is that Frank prefers to be a 'manager' rather than the 'head coach' which INEOS would want him to be. Incoming sporting director Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox are ready to spearhead United's recruitment moving forwards.
