A man faked a DNA test to avoid paying child support after having a one-night stand. William Boswarva told the baby's mother he 'wanted nothing to do' with them after she fell pregnant, the Liverpool Echo reports.
He tried to offer her money for a termination before cutting contact. But once the baby boy was born and the mother applied for child support, Boswarva was requested to carry out a DNA test. He then blamed inconsistencies in the results on 'some kind of mix up'. Boswarva has been on trial at Liverpool Crown Court this week accused of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.
Today (April 4), the 29-year-old was convicted of this single count by a majority jury. Jurors had previously been told how the case was 'not Jeremy Kyle' and 'not about deciding who the real father was'.
