Fans of The Traitors have said 'how cruel' as they didn't know whether to laugh or cry over one particular detail in Diane's 'funeral' scenes.

It was a long wait for fans of the BBC One show to find out if the retired headteacher had in fact drunk the fizzy wine which would see her "poisoned and killed".

During the last episode on Friday (January 12), the three traitors - Harry, Paul and Miles - were challenged with murdering a faithful in plain sight by making them drink from a poisoned chalice.

They had to secretly discuss their decision among their fellow players before finding the chalice in a book. Their panicked plan was then set into action with Miles being the one to deliver the drink to Diane before the episode ended leaving viewers wondering if she had taken a sip.
