Wythenshawe Civic is set to go through a ‘once in a lifetime' regeneration with the council looking for a developer to deliver the new site.
Under the plans, the 1970s shopping centre would be transformed into a new cultural space with a new range of shops. The project would also see new homes being built on the old site with over 1,600 expected to be built, including rentals.
Home to 90 different stores. The Civic Centre is often fenced off at night, but the new development includes the creation of new late night venues in an effort to boost the night time economy. The appointed development partner will be taking over the management of the existing space and also be leading the decisions on how to proceed with the wider council-owned land.
