Terminally ill TV star Charlie Bird issues emotional plea to his supporters

Charlie Bird has made a tough plea to his followers as he battles Motor Neurone Disease.The terminally ill RTE presenter was diagnosed with the disease in 2021 and has been updating fans on his health battle ever since, reports the Mirror.Following his diagnosis, Charlie announced Climb For Charlie, a campaign where he and other celebrities would climb Croagh Partick to raise awareness of the condition.Earlier in 2023, Charlie made the devastating announcement that his health was "deteriorating and so is my movement".Now, the 74-year-old has made a return to social media to request that his Climb With Charlie supporters help his wife Claire, and Tiger to continue the work of extending the hand of friendship to people in dark places and the charities I support.
