Strictly's Saffron Barker: 'I’m going out of my dating comfort zone!'
ok.co.ukStrictly Come Dancing star Saffron Barker has revealed that she’s pushing herself to new limits when it comes to dating as she searches for romance.The YouTube personality, who boasts a whopping 2.47M subscribers on the video streaming platform and has recently brought out her second collection with Abbott Lyon, strutted onto the BBC dancing competition with confidence back in 2019 - but admits she struggles to bring the same oomph in her personal life.
Chatting with OK! This week, the star admitted that she had ‘never been on a date in her life’ before recently. “Dates always really scared me, I hate awkward silences and find it so uncomfortable,” she shared.
Saffron presents a podcast, dubbed Sex, Lies and DM Slides, with pal and fellow social media star Anastasia Kingsnorth. Preparing to return for another season, the duo will be dishing the dirt on their dating lives - with Saffron amping up the ante on hers just in time. “We’re going to be focusing on our own single stories on the podcast and I couldn’t have done that before because, during season one, I’d never gone on a date in my life”, admits the star.
Continuing: “But now I’m going on dates and using the excuse that it’s research for the podcast. I’ve not had any bad dating experiences, they’ve been good but nothing has come out of any of the dates.
