St Cuthbert Wanderers chief Ian Clark described Saturday’s loss to Upper Annandale as a “sore one” to take. Saints went into the game on a high after the previous week’s win over Lochmaben.
But they were beaten 2-0 at St Mary’s Park, Declan Wallace and Proudfoot scoring for the visitors after the hosts had Ally McMillan sent off.
Clark said: “It was a sore one. It wasn’t a 2-0 game, we were in it until we went down to 10 men. It was a bit harsh as I felt the boy slipped for the second yellow but the referee didn’t. “The disappointing thing for me is we were miles off it compared to where we have been.
We probably deserved to get beaten. “I always take performances over results and we were poor compared to the levels I know we can get to. “I think we’re more than capable of beating teams like Uppers.
