TV chef James Martin has revealed what food helped him shed three stone.The ITV star has appeared on Saturday Morning screens looking significantly slimmer, which he owes to a lifestyle overhaul.

While his Strictly Come Dancing debut is to thank for his trimmed physique, he said it's his diet that has helped him retain his weight loss.According to the 51 year-old, his key to keeping the pounds off lies in eating fish twice a day, paired with some "seasonal veg".

A qualified dietician has weighed in on whether fish can help with weight loss.As reported by Birmingham Live, he said: "What could be simpler than pan-frying a little bit of salmon and serving it with some great new potatoes and seasonal veg?"Kristen Smith, MS, registered dietitian and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, said: "Most fish are high in protein but contain fewer calories than other protein sources, like poultry or beef, says."Protein-rich foods can help increase satiety and prevent overeating at or between meals.

Moreover, many fish are also loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, an essential nutrient that promotes heart and brain health." James: "Losing weight is a balance of everything, it's getting off your arse and doing more and not eating less, but eating a variety of different things."Water is the key.
