Soap fans have been left outraged as ITV has announced it’s cancelling a major series starring some of the nation’s biggest soap stars.
Stars from the worlds of Coronation Street, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks all appeared in the show, which has been axed. ITV has revealed that it has cancelled the reality show Drama Queens after just one season.The show followed some of soap land’s most recognisable stars as it followed their lives and real-life drama which goes on behind the scenes while working on the nation’s biggest soaps.
Sign up to OK!'s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free Stars featured on the show included Lucy Fallon and Ellie Leach, known for playing Bethany Platt and Faye Windass in Coronation Street, Jamelia and Jorgie Porter, known for playing Sharon Bailey and Teresa McQueen in Hollyoaks, and Laura Norton and Roxy Shahidi, who have played Kerry Wyatt and Leyla Harding on Emmerdale, amongst others.
The series, which aired for the first time in April this year, ran for eight episodes, with Ellie taking viewers backstage at the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour, Roxy performing on Dancing On Ice, and Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent going to a family get together.
