Shoe Zone hammer blow as store 'closing down' in Kilmarnock
dailyrecord.co.ukKilmarnock town centre has been dealt a fresh hammer blow with the announcement that another shop is set to close.Shoe Zone on King Street announced plans to shut down its shop.Signs placed in the window announced that the retailer is 'closing down'.It's understood that a final closing date has yet to be announced by the retailer.The unit is under the Burns Mall umbrella and the news emerges shortly after the shopping centre was put up for saleThe news emerges shortly after the Burns Mall was put up for sale with a £2.85m price tag.We revealed that less than half of the 31 Burns Mall units are occupied as retailers continue to experience difficulties.However, this is not the first time Shoe Zone has announced it was pulling out of the town.In August 2019, the retailer announced plans to close the same King Street store before performing a u-turn.Shoe Zone has been contacted for comment.
