Late-night is back and Late Night host Seth Meyers is teasing a bit of the first script post-strike. In an Instagram post Monday, Meyers gives us a peek of the script in a photo, which confirms his first target is, who else, but Donald Trump. “Welcome back, everyone!,” the script in the photo reads. “I’m not sure what you’ve been up to these past five months, but I’ve used the time to reflect and have come to the conclusion that yes, I’ve been too hard on the guy.

Who among us isn’t under multiple indictments?” In his Instagram caption, Meyers gives a big hint about tonight’s show, which will be without guests on the first night back. “So happy to be back at my desk writing again,” he wrote. “Tonight’s show is an hour long ‘Closer Look’ that will catch up on the last five months as well as today’s events.

I mean what are the odds that the day we come back a former President is appearing in court? Only 2-1? Huh, I thought they’d be higher…,” he writes.

Of course, Meyers is referring to Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial which got underway today in NYC. Meyers also gave a nod to the show’s writers: “Shout out to @salgentile who turned in an 80 page script last night and @cuecardwally_official who just ran out to buy more Sharpies.” Meyers and Fallon have been hosting the Strike Force Five podcast during the strike alongside The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver.
