Scots TV star Gail Porter to use her own struggles to help others during cost of living crisis

The 52-year-old has previously opened up about her own struggles with the hopes that it can help others. Gail will be working with Virgin Media 02 and Good Things Foundation, in a campaign which she says is "extremely important to me."Back in the noughties, Gail had a successful career hosting TV shows including Top of the Pops, Children in Need, Fully Booked and Dead Famous.
Then in 2005, she was diagnosed with alopecia.Gail also experienced poor mental health, suffering a nervous breakdown at one stage and she eventually lost her home, meaning she had to sofa surf between pal's houses and sleep on park benches.Earlier this month, Gail told the Mirror: "This campaign is extremely important to me as I was homeless for a while and I didn't realise how much we rely on data until I actually didn't have any and I had no access to any."Things as simple as applying for jobs, finding out if I am eligible for any government help, housing assistance and just talking to a friend.....
I couldn't do any of these things in an easy manner without data."Gail also spoke about her alopecia diagnosis, which led to fewer TV opportunities and money struggles.She said: "I never regret opening up on my troubles.
