Metallica’s Robert Trujillo has boozy secret to ‘fresh’ hair for headbanging
nypost.comduring an interview with reporter Anna Olma, of German radio station Rock Antenne, following the release of the group’s 11th studio album, “72nd Season,” earlier this month. “What’s the secret behind your beautiful hair?” asked Olma. “Is there a special conditioner?” “You know, a little bit of beer in there and some Jägermeister,” Trujillo casually replied. “Those are the key ingredients for fresh hair: beer and Jäger.” Despite the fact that the yeast in the alcoholic drink provides a source of Vitamin B and is rich in protein, potassium, iron, zinc and magnesium, there is no concrete proof that washing your hair in beer is beneficial, according to experts.
There is also no evidence that Jägermeister — which contains “all-natural” ingredients — increases hair growth.The Post reached out to Trujillo for comment.
During the interview, Trujillo did not say what kind of beer, though the rock group has collaborated with California’s Stone Brewing to create their own beverage, called “Enter Night Pilsner.”According to the product description, the drink “represents the cataclysmic collision of two uncompromising supernatural forces” and “much like the band, transcends genres, shatters preconceptions and challenges convention.”Trujillo added that his genetics are to thank for his long luscious locks of black hair. “It’s in the genes,” said the 58-year-old. “I guess my dad was part Native American so we have a lot of hair maybe coming from that side of the family.” “I tell you, our family, we all have hair,” continued the bassist.
