A Scots youngster was given a fifth birthday to remember after police officers set up a secret mission to celebrate his big day.
Little Anthony Green visits Glenrothes Police Station every Friday to wave at the cop cars coming and going, so he was delighted when he was invited inside for a special surprise. On June 9, Anthony and his dad William reported to reception for his first ‘shift’.
But the celebrations were cut short as Community Sergeant David McCabe had lost an ‘important document’ and feared he was going to get sacked by the Chief Constable. The officer said he knew it was in one of seven vehicles that had been used during earlier police patrols, so Anthony helped him search for it.
After scoruing the fleet, the pair finally discovered the crucial document in the last motor they checked. Much to Anthony's surprise, it turned out to be a personalised birthday card with images of all of the youngster's favourite vehicles at Glenrothes, including the road policing tractor that is used for events. The youngster also received a personalised birthday message over the radio and some road safety advice from PC Jennifer Finlay. When not at his local Police station, Anthony attends nursery, where he likes to play football.
