Climate activists are disrupting operations at two of Scotland's major oil terminals in Grangemouth and Clydebank.This is Rigged protestors have blocked terminal gates, occupied pipe work and climbed onto tankers so they can't leave at both the INEOS plant in Grangemouth and Nustar in Clydebank.
They have been there since around 5.30am on Wednesday morning. The group say that no fuel can leave the site while they are there and they have "no plans to stop".
Police confirmed they were called to both depots, but did not say if anyone has been arrested at this time.A statement on Twitter says: "Groups of people are currently occupying pipework and a fuel silo and blockading terminal gates, while another group has immobilised a car park full of tankers at the Grangemouth facility.
No fuel can leave the sites while they are occupied."The action is the first in a sustained series of actions, in which the group has vowed to “shut down the Scottish oil industry”."This is Rigged is demanding that the Scottish oil industry make a fair transition into green energy with more green jobs and increased public ownership of energy.
