Scotland is to endure a bout of wet weather later this week, as forecasters have warned of heavy rains that may cause disruption.Two new yellow weather warnings for rain have been issued by the Met Office lasting from Wednesday to Friday.
The first alert is in place for the southwest of Scotland for all day Wednesday, October 4, predicting up to 70mm of rainfall in some areas.However, this amount is expected to rise as the second warning, which spreads up to the northwest, anticipates a staggering 125mm to pummel the West Highlands - possibly in the excess of 150mm (six inches) in a few sports.
This is in place for Thursday afternoon and will last until Friday night. Scots are being urged to be vigilant on these dates, as possible flooding may impact day-to-day life.
Forecasters have warned of transport delays from bus and train cancellations, while communities may be cut off by flooded roads.There is also a chance of structural damage and power cuts to some homes and businesses.
