The "wettest" cities in Scotland have been revealed in new research, with two claiming the top spots for the whole of Great Britain.After a long winter and a poor start to the spring, the whole of Scotland has been experiencing wet weather in recent weeks.
However, according to a new study by Betfair Slingo, some parts of the country are more prone to rain than others.Looking at data from Met Office weather stations active in 2023, the experts put together a list of the 10 wettest cities in Great Britain.
According to the study, Edinburgh comes in at number one with 1421.97mm of estimated rainfall recorded last year.Famous for its wild and unpredictable weather, the Scottish capital is known for regularly seeing rainfall.
Umbrellas, raincoats, and wellies are a common sight in the city even during the summer months.Following behind in second place, with 1359.71mm of estimated rainfall in 2023, is the town of Ayr.
