With the fourth series of BBC smash hit Race Across the World now well underway, viewers at home have been excitedly watching a new set of teams try and duke it out for a coveted cash prize by travelling from Japan to Indonesia with only a limited budget.
So far, the five teams have made it from Japan to Cambodia after travelling through South Korea and Vietnam, with the gap between each pair getting tighter and tighter.
During the course of the first four episodes, viewers have seen the teams struggle to get to grips with life on the road without the use of their smart phones, with the tricky task of navigating instead having fallen to the reliable staple of paper maps and the help of locals to advise them.
While watching the action unfold on screen, many fans have often wondered about life between each leg of the race, with one fan even asking, if the contestants are allowed to contact home, receive messages or read the news while taking part.
