Scotland's 'best fish and chips' named as restaurant wins title for second year in a row

The best fish and chips takeaway and Italian restaurants across Scotland have been crowned.The winners of the 2023 Scottish Italian Awards were announced on Monday, celebrating the top Italian food and drink destinations around the country.

Judged by both the public and a "panel of esteemed independent" critics, winners from around Scotland were selected in categories such as 'Scotland’s Best Newcomer', 'Scotland’s Best Deli', and 'Scotland’s Best Restaurant Dessert'.Among the most prominent awards was Scotland’s Best Fish and Chips, which was won by Tony’s Chip Shop in the North Lanarkshire town of Coatbridge.

As reported by the Daily Record, the chippy previously saw success at last year's Scottish Italian Awards.
