In 2021, Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn became headline news when joined over 18’s platform OnlyFans. Shortly after, Sarah was issued an ultimatum by her soap bosses and told to choose between OnlyFans or her soap career.

So after years of playing beloved character, Mandy Richardson, Sarah left the show - but three years on, she couldn’t be happier. “I didn’t leave acting, that was never my intention,” Sarah insists. “The whole point of joining OnlyFans and moving over to that platform is because I was already shooting my content and putting it up on Instagram. “But with OnlyFans, you’ve got the copyright and it’s protected, so it made sense to go.

Nothing has really changed apart from the amount of content I get to create now.” Hollyoaks fans were distraught about Sarah leaving the show after almost 20 years, but still continued to support her decision. “I never anticipated such a big reaction from the media, and I was thrown into that without any warning,” says Sarah. “It was a whirlwind for a good couple of months, but luckily, it was all very positive.

I had good support from lots of other women and that’s what inspired me. “I find it really empowering and I tick several boxes in that I’m a mother, I’m over 40 and I’m married,” continues Sarah. “In society if you’re all of those things people think you can’t be sexy or feminine.
