Sam Thompson has said he was 'welling up' after re-listing to Pete Wick's comments about his Strictly Come Dancing partner as his plea to his best mate ahead of his first live performance was uncovered.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here winner Sam was in the ballroom on Saturday night (September 21) as week one of the BBC One dance contest's 2024 series took place.

He was front row alongside his girlfriend Zara McDermott to support Pete as he performed live for the first time with his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal.
