Ryanair has warned passengers of ‘potential disruption’ to flights both arriving into and departing from the UK today due to thunderstorms.
The airline urged passengers to check the status of their flight before travelling. Currently a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms issued by the Met Office is in place from midday today until 8pm this evening.
It warns of 'thunderstorms and heavy showers causing disruption' in some areas across the Midlands, in London, East of England, South East, South West and Wales.
As well as thunderstorms, ‘large hail’ is predicted along with wind and heavy rain. The Met Office said: “Whilst some places will remain dry, where thundery showers do occur, they will bring frequent lightning, gusty winds, potentially some large hail, as well as brief spells of heavy rain.” READ MORE: 'We dropped our BMW at Manchester Airport, what we came back to was disgusting' Warning passengers of disruption today, Ryanair said: “Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from England on Fri 20 September should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.
