Runaway military horses that bolted through London streets are expected to make a full recovery, the British Army has said.Bystanders were left stunned when the horses, one black and a white once soaked in blood, were seen galloping through the Capital on Wednesday.
The animals were 'spooked' by builders moving rubble while a group of seven horses and six soldiers from the Household Cavalry were on an extended exercise in Belgravia.
Four service personnel were thrown from their horses who were injured after smashing into vehicles. A serviceman was thrown to the ground in Buckingham Palace Road and one of the horses smashed into a taxi waiting outside the Clermont Hotel, shattering its windows.
A statement on X, formerly Twitter, said: “Every one of the horses involved continue to be cared for and closely observed. Two of the injured horses have been operated on, with one transferred to an equine hospital. “All our horses receive the highest standards of care, and those that did not undergo surgery are expected to return to duty in due course.
