Ruben Amorim is the new head coach of Manchester United less than a week after Erik ten Hag's tenure at the club came to an end.
United confirmed the appointment of the 39-year-old at Friday lunchtime after days of negotiations. Amorim has signed a two-and-a-half yea-contract at Old Trafford and will officially begin work on November 11 before taking charge of his first game against Ipswich Town on November 24.
Amorim's stock has been high for the last two years after masterminding a first league title at Sporting CP for 19 years. He guided the Portuguese giants to another league title last season, which led to him being linked to the West Ham and Liverpool jobs.
