dailyrecord.co.ukPrince William holds many royal titles but one of them seems to be cursed due to its tragic history and may one day be inherited by his sons Prince George and Prince Louis.The 41-year-old prince gained seven new titles when he became the Prince of Wales last year after his father King Charles ascended the throne.However, William's Duke of Cambridge title, which was given to him by the late Queen Elizabeth on his wedding day to Kate Middleton, is filled with sadness and unfortunate events that happened to the other title holders throughout history.The future King is now the eighth person to hold the title and it's possible that one day it will be passed down to George or Louis, the Express reports.The title was created during King Charles II's reign in 1660 with the first Duke of Cambridge being his eldest nephew, Charles Stuart, who tragically died when he was just six months old.The next holder was Charles Stuart's younger brother, James who also died at a young age from either smallpox or the bubonic plague.The King's oldest nephew followed, Edgar Stuart, but he passed away at the age of three at Richmond Place on June 8, 1671.Edgar's titles became extinct until the birth of his younger brother, also named Charles, in 1677 but tragedy struck again when Charles died at just 35 days old.The cursed title was not used again until 1706 when Queen Anne made the future King George II the fifth Duke of Cambridge.Prince George's marriage to Sarah Fairbrother produced three sons, however as his marriage violated The Royal Marriages Act of 1771, it was classed as invalid and all his titles became extinct on his death.After that the title was passed on to William on his wedding day where he and Kate Middleton became the Duke and
