Primark apologises for ‘confusion’ over price discrepancy in gendered sunglasses

As summer approaches, shoppers are looking to build up their wardrobe for the warmer season. While bargain retailer Primark is normally the go-to for many fashion fans on a budget, shoppers were annoyed after noticing an identical pair of sunglasses were priced differently for men and women.

A post has gone viral after one Primark shopper pointed out the similar sunglasses had different price tags. She wrote: “Primark woman's left men's right." The sunglasses that were women's cost just £2.50, whereas the men's ones were £4 - nearly double the price as the women’s version.

In the comments, people were shocked that there was a £1.50 price difference for the exact same summer essential, with Facebook user Danielle Waite saying: “Someone should complain Jesus Christ cheek of it £4 then £2.50.” Nicky Jones called it a “naughty” move by Primark while Sadie Selina commented “lol just trying to charge more for the same thing.” However, other shoppers pointed out it’s normally “the other way around” with woman normally paying more for fashion than men.
