Pep Guardiola fires warning to Man City rivals ahead of Arsenal game

Pep Guardiola said a third successive defeat would not have shaken his faith that Manchester City can have a good season. The Treble winners went into Wednesday's game on the back of successive defeats - to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup and then Wolves in the Premier League.

They dominated the possession from the outset but only had one goal to show for it at half-time and conceded immediately after the break before late goals from substitutes Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku sealed the win.

Guardiola was delighted with the performance of both his starting XI and his substitutes, who he praised for their positive attitude despite not being chosen to start the game.

And as they return to Manchester before heading down to North London later in the week for a crunch Premier League game with title rivals Arsenal, City's coach thinks his side will take some beating this season.
