Passengers evacuated from part of Manchester Airport due to 'false alarm'

Passengers were forced to evacuate part of Manchester Airport today with bus services kept away from the scene. Firefighters were seen outside the airport's bus and rail station earlier this afternoon (July 27).

Travellers were also told to leave the building, with a crowd of people with suitcases huddled outside the station at around 12.45pm.

Manchester Airport confirmed that an evacuation had taken place earlier today. The evacuation followed a 'false alarm' and the incident has since been stood down, a spokesperson for Manchester Airport said.
